Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of taking
the role as a storyteller in elderly towards their depression level in the
village of Notoprajan, Ngampilan, Yogyakarta. This study is a quasi
experimental design. The technique used to take the sample was a
random sample of the some 15 elderly who were given the role as
storytellers in front of 5-10 years old elementary school children for 60
minutes. The level of depression measured before and after performing
the role as storytellers. The data was analyzed using T-test Paired. The
results of the data analysis showed that there was a relationship between
become a storyteller and depression level on elderly (P value 0.000).
