Abstract

The purpose of this quasi-experiment study was to determine
the effect of home visit on the abilities of clients and their families in
taking care of the family member with mental problem in Banaran village,
Galur, Kulon Progo. The sample of this research were patients who had
mental problem and their families. The sampling technique used in this
research was a random sampling technique taken from 11 clients who
were given four home visits in a month. The data were analyzed using
paired t-test. After the patients were given the home visit, the researchers
measured the respondents' abilities. The result showed that there was
an effect of home visits on the client's ability (p=0.000) and there was
no effect of home visit on the family ability in taking care the patients
(p=0.480).
