PEMANFAATAN METADON PADA INJECTING DRUG USERS DI PUSKESMAS GEDONG TENGEN YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of methadone
services by Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) in Puskesmas Gedong Tengen,
Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative research design. The samples
were taken by using purposive sampling, as the result, there were four
people taken as the informants. The data were collected by using indepth
interviews, the data analysis was done by using thematic content
analysis. The result showed that all of the informants continuously came
to the health center and took the methadone, had insufficient knowledge
about methadone, positive attitude toward the methadone service in health
center, the easy access to the methadone and the existence of special
elbow room for methadone clients in health center. The informants stated
that they needed the methadone because they wanted to quit using drugs.
