PEMANFAATAN METADON PADA INJECTING DRUG USERS DI PUSKESMAS GEDONG TENGEN YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of methadoneservices by Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) in Puskesmas Gedong Tengen,Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative research design. The sampleswere taken by using purposive sampling, as the result, there were fourpeople taken as the informants. The data were collected by using indepthinterviews, the data analysis was done by using thematic contentanalysis. The result showed that all of the informants continuously cameto the health center and took the methadone, had insufficient knowledgeabout methadone, positive attitude toward the methadone service in healthcenter, the easy access to the methadone and the existence of specialelbow room for methadone clients in health center. The informants statedthat they needed the methadone because they wanted to quit using drugs.Keywords: methadone service, injecting drug users.
