Abstract
music on respiration for low birth weight babies during Kangaroo Mother
Care. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest and
posttest non equivalent control group design. The sample were 40 mothers
and their babies recruited using purposive sampling. The study was
conducted in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Wates District Hospital
and Jogja District Hospital. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test,
independent t-test and linear regression with a significance level of p <
0.05 and confidence interval (CI) 95%. There was decreased in respiration
rate on low birth weight 3,3 times/minute ( p = 0.019). Gestational age
and labor type results were not significant ( p > 0.05). The music has an
effect on the reduction of respiratory rate in low birth weight babies
during Kangaroo Mother Care.
