PENGARUH MUSIK TERHADAP RESPIRASI BAYI BERAT LAHIR RENDAH SELAMA KANGAROO MOTHER CARE

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect ofmusic on respiration for low birth weight babies during Kangaroo MotherCare. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest andposttest non equivalent control group design. The sample were 40 mothersand their babies recruited using purposive sampling. The study wasconducted in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Wates District Hospitaland Jogja District Hospital. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test,independent t-test and linear regression with a significance level of p <0.05 and confidence interval (CI) 95%. There was decreased in respirationrate on low birth weight 3,3 times/minute ( p = 0.019). Gestational ageand labor type results were not significant ( p > 0.05). The music has aneffect on the reduction of respiratory rate in low birth weight babiesduring Kangaroo Mother Care.Keywords: Kangaroo Mother Care, Low Birth Weight, music, respiratoryrateHow to Cite
