Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the meaningful experienceof people with HIV/AIDS who had a care treatment in their family. Thisresearch is a qualitative research design with phenomenological descriptiveapproach. The data collected by interviewing nine respondentsin Kulon Progo Regency and analyzed by using Collaizi technique. Theresult of the study revealed 13 themes, those who declined and thosewho accepted their HIV/AIDS in front of their family. Based on theseinventions of the themes above, it was expected for the district nursescommunity to provide holistic family interpersonal skills course to thefamilies of people living with HIV/AIDS so that they could treat thepeople with HIV emphatically.Keywords: people with HIV/AIDS, care, family
