Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to determinethe effect of the father class to increase husband’s knowledgeabout the danger signs of pregnancy in South Rengasdengklokvillage, Rengasdengklok, Karawang in 2013. The subject ofresearch is the husband of a pregnant woman, there are 26treatment group and 26 control group. Measuring instrumentusing a questionnaire. Results of paired t-test showed that thereis a difference in the pretest-posttest husband’s level ofknowledge given class father and given leaflets (p value=0.000).The result of independent t-test showed that there weredifferences between the husband’s increased knowledge of thetreatment group and the control group (p value = 0.000), it canbe concluded that there is a father’s class effect to the husband’sincreased knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy.Key words: knowledge of pregnancy danger signs,father’s class
