Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to determine
the effect of the father class to increase husband’s knowledge
about the danger signs of pregnancy in South Rengasdengklok
village, Rengasdengklok, Karawang in 2013. The subject of
research is the husband of a pregnant woman, there are 26
treatment group and 26 control group. Measuring instrument
using a questionnaire. Results of paired t-test showed that there
is a difference in the pretest-posttest husband’s level of
knowledge given class father and given leaflets (p value=0.000).
The result of independent t-test showed that there were
differences between the husband’s increased knowledge of the
treatment group and the control group (p value = 0.000), it can
be concluded that there is a father’s class effect to the husband’s
increased knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy.
