Abstract

The purpose of this cross-sectional research is to determinethe relationship between mother’s knowledge about how to care longcord with a loose cord in infants in Puskesmas Pekuncen, Banyumas in2013. The population is all the mothers who gave birth in December2012-March 2013 number 70. Sampling using simple random samplingtechnique obtained 41 mothers. The results showed that there is arelationship between maternal knowledge about cord care with longtime off the umbilical cord to the baby in Puskesmas PekuncenBanyumas in 2013 (p value=0.013), smaller than α=0.05.Key words: knowledge, umbilical cord care, release cord
