Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship of Early
Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) with the onset of lactation in postpartum
primiparous mothers. Methods of prospective cohort studies. Subjects
were postpartum primiparous mothers were normal delivery with a total
sample of 62. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test. The results
showed an association between IMD with the onset of lactation (p
value=0.000). The onset of lactation in the majority of mothers who do
IMD faster than mothers who did not do the IMD. Pregnant women
who are preparing for the delivery in order to understand and want to
do IMD so that no delay in the onset of lactation.
