Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship of EarlyInitiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) with the onset of lactation in postpartumprimiparous mothers. Methods of prospective cohort studies. Subjectswere postpartum primiparous mothers were normal delivery with a totalsample of 62. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test. The resultsshowed an association between IMD with the onset of lactation (pvalue=0.000). The onset of lactation in the majority of mothers who doIMD faster than mothers who did not do the IMD. Pregnant womenwho are preparing for the delivery in order to understand and want todo IMD so that no delay in the onset of lactation.Keywords: onset of lactation, early breastfeeding
