FAKTOR DETERMINAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS JUMPANDANG BARU KECAMATAN TALLO KOTA MAKASSAR

Abstract
The aim of this survey study is to analyze the factors
(promotion of infant formula, breastfeeding counseling, culture, and
husband support) influence toward exclusive breastfeeding. The study
was conducted in the region of Jumpandang Baru Primary Health Center.
One hundred and thirty nursing mothers from the five villages that
represent the location of the study were recruited as sample using simple
random sampling. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression
and followed by multiple linear regression test. The result of the study
indicates that the promotion of infant formula (p=0,000 â=-0,281), culture
(p=0,008 â=-0,198) and husband support (p=0,000 â=0,453) significantly
influence the exclusive breastfeeding practice. Whereas breastfeeding
counseling (p=0,284 â=0,073) does not influence exclusive breastfeeding
practice. Husband support is the most influential determinant factor on
exclusive breastfeeding (p=0,000 â=0,453).
