EFEKTIVITAS METODE PERAWATAN LUKA MOISTURE BALANCE TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA PADA PASIEN ULKUS DIABETIKUM

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the effectivenessof moisture balance wound care method in healing diabetic ulcers atWound Care Clinic, Faculty of Health Sciences, UMM. This study is apre-experimental research with prospective approach. The instrumentused in this research was observation sheet. The population in this studywas 40 people. The sample was taken by using accidental samplingtechnique which obtained 12 respondents. The effectiveness of moisturebalance wound care method obtained mean of 28.4 before wound caretreatment and 19.3 after the treatment. Data analysis using paired samplet-test showed that there was significant differences between pre- andpost-treatment with the moisture balance wound care method in patientswith diabetic ulcers (t=16.722, > t critic=2.201). It is recommended toset the moisture balance wound care method as the standardized methodin wound care of diabetic ulcers. UMM’s Faculty of Health Sciencescan develop the related treatment toward other types of wound.Keywords: wound care, moisture balance, diabetic ulcers
