EFEKTIVITAS KATETERISASI URIN MENGGUNAKAN JELLY ANESTESI DAN JELLY BIASA TERHADAP RESPON NYERI PASIEN LAKI-LAKI

The purpose of this quasi experiment with posttestonly control group design was to examine the effectivenessof urine catheterization using anesthetics jelly and water basedlubricant for male patients’ pain response. Thirty patients ofRSUD Muntilan and PKU Muhammadiyah DIY wererecruited using nonprobability sampling with purposivesampling method, divided into experiment group and controlgroup. The Mann-Whitney test indicated a significantdifference in urine catheterization pain score response usinganesthetics jelly and common jelly for male patients (p value0.000). From this study, anesthetics jelly was recommendedto use with 3 min delay following installation of anestheticsjelly before urine catheterization for male patients.Key words: urine catheterization, anesthetics jelly, painDownloads
