Abstract

This research aimed to explore the factors that inhibit the academic achievement of midwifery’s student at 5th grade in ‘Aisyiyah Health Science Institute of Yogyakarta 2010. A qualitative research with phenomenological approach according to in-depth Furthermore, internal inhibit, external inhibit, and learning style were found as the factors that inhibit the students to gained the academic achievement. However, the internal inhibit factor consists of two themes were psychology, and physiology. Then, the external inhibit factor consist of one theme was social environment. Furthermore, learning style consist of one theme was surface learning. Learning process was felt something bored for the participants; finally, they loosed their enthusiasm to learn and failed to accomplish the best result in their academic achievement.Keywords: Student, Academic Achievement
