Abstract

Latar Belakang: Tangan jika digunakan secara berlebihan dan berlangsung lama dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya keluhan. Salah satu kondisi yang bisa terjadi adalah CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME  (CTS). CTS merupakan kumpulan indikasi serta ciri penyakit yang diakibatkan oleh terjepitnya saraf median di terowongan karpal pada pergelangan tangan. CTS ini ditandai dengan indikasi mati rasa, nyeri, serta kelemahan pada tangan akibat penekanan pada saraf medianus. Salah satu modalitas yang bisa diberikan pada pasien dengan CTS adalah nerve dan tendon gliding exercise. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas penggunaan nerve dan tendon gliding exercise dalam menurunkan keluhan bagi pasien CTS. Metode: Melakukan critical review pada delapan artikel Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) terpilih, dengan ketentuan artikel Quartile 1 sampai 3. Hasil: Nerve dan tendon gliding exercise cocok digunakan pada kondisi CTS ringan, sedang dan pasca operasi. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil studi critical review terhadap delapan artikel terpilih, pemberian nerve dan tendon gliding exercise efektif dalam menurunkan keluhan seperti nyeri, meningkatkan kekuatan otot dan meningkatkan aktivitas fungsional pada pasien CTS.
