Abstract


The realization of Palembang City as a Smart City can be implemented by planning the construction of a Science Techno Park in Palembang City. The Science Techno Park is planned to improve the relationship between the innovation ecosystem to support innovation research activities, startup development through business incubator, accelerator programs and technology transfer processes. This study aims to formulate a development planning strategy for the science techno park area in Palembang City based on existing conditions as empirical evidence. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using a spatial approach that emphasizes the natural and finding nature of the circumstances at the research location. Data is collected by means of interviews and observations based on the existing or situational conditions at the research location. Furthermore, it is analyzed using SWOT analysis as a means of developing the various of planning strategies. The results of the study show that there are 9 planning strategies, including: (1) Reconstructing the LVRI building, (2) Formulating regulations (3) Developing planning land (4) Developing planning locations as smart economy areas, (5 ) Formulate a strategy as a smart economy area, (6) Create an organized institution or structure (7) Strengthen community institutions, (8) Formulate a the strategy of digital community empowerment (9) Increase local community knowledge about technology.
